Ableton Mixdown Tutorial Series
Today I give you some of the tutorials from the Mixing Dance Music Course at Pointblank, UK's favourite Music Production School. Great insights on things like side chaining, delay, compression, and modulation. There is also one extra tutorial video from the Ableton Production Course on percussion arpegiation. Be sure to watch these!

House production in 20 minutes or how to make house
20.min House production in Ableton Live from viva electro on Vimeo.
Hardly a tutorial video, but still a good watch if you're making house. There are no commentaries just plain simple building of song in ableton live is broadcast. You can see some of the plugins they are using, you can sort of see what midi clip measures he's using, and patterns being created.
Of course, he starts with a strong beat. Kick, snare, hats, and African percussion make up the rhythm. Next, he's putting in a baseline and other instruments. We also have a vocal sample as well. Hardly any effects are used apart from what's playing through his VST instruments.
I like the choice of instruments very much because it's of its deep and contemporary feel. Just sounds right to me. It's little something for you to help you to get into house music. I am sure you can get to that level without a problem, next challenge is to develop the song, the composition.

Awesomest tune I learned about from the rex the dogs mixtape (1st track in the mix). Ecstatic deep vocal electronics if you will.
